Mushroom and Ham Brunch Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 Single-Crust
  • 2 Tbsp. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 2 C. chopped fresh mushrooms (any variety)
  • 1 1/2 C. chopped onion
  • 1/2 C. finely chopped fully-cooked smoked ham
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 C. half-and-half
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. Spice Islands® Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 C. shredded sharp Cheddar or Swiss cheese

Directions

  1. PREPARE recipe for Single-Crust Classic Crisco Pie Crust. Line 9-inch pie plate with prepared crust. Flute edge as desired. Chill until ready to use.
  2. MOVE oven rack to lowest position. Heat oven to 425°F. Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and onions. Cook 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and golden brown. Stir in ham and parsley. Let cool 10 minutes.
  3. WHISK eggs in large bowl. Add half-and-half, pepper and nutmeg. Whisk until blended.
  4. SPREAD cheese in prepared crust. Top evenly with mushroom mixture. Pour egg mixture into crust.
  5. BAKE 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F. Bake an additional 20 to 25 minutes or until filling is set and crust is golden brown. Let stand 15 to 30 minutes before serving.
