Malted Milk Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 C. Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1 ¼ C. light brown sugar
  • ½ C. malted milk powder
  • 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled to room temperature
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 72 malted milk balls, cut in half (about 1 ½ C. cut)
  • 1 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • flaky sea salt (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, soda and salt; set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer or in a large bowl with a handheld mixer, cream together the shortening, brown sugar, malted milk powder, melted chocolate, vanilla and egg. Beat for about 2-4 minutes or until fluffy.
  4. Slowly add the flour mixture and stir on low just until combined.
  5. Stir in the malted milk balls and chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop out using a 1 ½ oz. (3 Tbsp.) scoop. Bake 10-12 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
