Gumdrop Cookies-7

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ C. unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ C. Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 2 C. light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 C. gumdrop candies, reserve ½ C. whole and chop the remaining 1 ½ C.

 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer or with an electric hand mixer, cream the butter, shortening, and brown sugar and smooth; scrape the sides of the bowl as needed.
  4. Add the eggs, and vanilla and beat to combine; scrape the sides of the bowl as needed.
  5. On low speed, add the flour mixture and blend until combined.
  6. Stir in the chopped candies.
  7. Scoop cookies into 1” dough balls onto a parchment lined baking sheet; top with 1-2 pieces of remaining whole candies.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges start to brown.
  9. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
