German Chocolate Brownies with Coconut Pecan Frosting Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ C. butter
  • 6 Tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ C. all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 4 oz. Sweet German Chocolate bar, chopped into small pieces

Coconut Pecan Frosting Recipe

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9×9” pan with Baker’s Joy® No Stick Spray; set aside.
  2. In a microwavable bowl, melt butter.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder until well blended.
  4. Add sugar and eggs and beat well.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
  6. Add the chocolate mixture and beat with a whisk for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Stir in German chocolate pieces.
  8. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center. You should get pieces of brownie on the toothpick but it should not be wet.
  10. Allow to cool on a wire rack before frosting with Coconut Pecan Frosting.
  11. Store in refrigerator in a sealed container.

Tips

Prepare the frosting a day in advance so it has time to thicken and allow all the flavors to come together!
