Ingredients

Frosting 

  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Spice Islands Pure Vanilla Extract

Cookies 

  • 1 cup Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs whites
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 2 tsp Spice Islands Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 3/4 cups cake flour

Directions

  1. For frosting combine sugar, salt, heavy cream and vanilla extract and mix with a hand mixer on medium speed until creamy and smooth. Set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl with a handmixer (or stand mixer) combine shortening, sugar, baking powder and salt and beat on medium speed until fluffy. While mixing, add eggs, cream and vanilla extract until well combined. Lower speed to low and add in cake flour gradually until it forms a dough.
  3. Form dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and space them about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until puffy and just golden on the edges.
  4. Let cookies cool for about 15 minutes before adding frosting. Once cooled, add as much frosting as desired.
