Cherry Berry Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 15 oz. frozen mixed berries (can be used frozen or thawed)
  • 21 oz. can cherry pie filling
  • 2 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Almond Extract
  • 1 lemon, zested
  • 2 Tbsp. Clabber Girl® Corn Starch
  • 2 pie crusts (top and bottom)
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tsp. raw sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the frozen berries, pie filling, pure almond extract, zest and corn starch. Mix until well blended.
  3. Line a 9-inch pie plate with one pie crust. Pour in berry mixture and spread evenly over the crust.
  4. Use the second pie crust to make a lattice top or use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on top of the pie.
  5. Using a fork, crimp the edges of the pie crust. Trim any overhang.
  6. Brush a beaten egg white over the entire pie crust. Sprinkle with raw sugar.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes at 350° F.
  8. Place a pie shield over the outer crust and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown and the pie is bubbly.
  9. Let sit for 20 minutes before serving.
