Caramel Glazed Apple Pie

Ingredients

For the Pie:

Double Pie Crust

  • 8 C. peeled and sliced cooking apples (about 4 to 6 large)
  • 1/3 C. corn syrup, dark
  • 3 Tbsp. butter OR margarine, melted
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1-1/2 Tbsp. Clabber Girl® Corn Starch
  • 1 tsp. Spice Islands® Ground Saigon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

For the Caramel Glaze:

  • 1/4 C. chopped pecans
  • 1/4 C. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. corn syrup, dark
  • 1 Tbsp. Clabber Girl® Corn Starch
  • 2 Tbsp. butter OR margarine, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Fit one pie crust into bottom of 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Add apples.
  4. Combine corn syrup, butter, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt in a small bowl.
  5. Pour over apples.
  6. Top with second crust, fold edges under, seal and flute.
  7. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, until crust is browned and apples are tender.
  8. Combine all Caramel Glaze ingredients in a small bowl.
  9. Dollop over pie and carefully spread over crust.
  10. Bake 10 minutes or until topping is bubbly.
