Directions

  1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper. Have any toppings you’d like to use ready to go.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and shortening.
  3. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring each time, until the mixture is melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  5. Dip spoons into melted mixture until coated.
  6. Gently shake off excess chocolate and place on waxed paper.
  7. If desired, add sprinkles, marshmallows, chocolate chips, etc. to the spoons before the chocolate sets.
  8. For thicker spoons, allow the chocolate to set without any additions then dip again before sprinkling.
  9. To use, dip and stir spoons into hot coffee or hot milk and enjoy!

Tips

Wrap a few spoons in a treat bag for a fun gift! To store, place in a resealable bag or container and keep away from heat and light.
