Cinnamon Galletas – Mexican Wedding Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 C. butter, softened (no substitutions)
  • 1/4 tsp. Spice Islands® Ground Allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. Spice Islands® Ground Saigon Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 C. Clabber Girl® Corn Starch

Powdered Sugar Glaze

  • 1 C. powdered sugar
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/3 C. sliced almonds, toasted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Beat butter, sugar, allspice, cinnamon, and vanilla until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
  3. Mix flour and corn starch together.
  4. Gradually add flour mixture until blended.
  5. Form cookie dough into 1-inch balls.
  6. Place on baking sheets; bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are set and lightly browned. Cool.
  7. Whisk 1 C. powdered sugar and 2 Tbsp. of milk together in a small mixing bowl.
  8. Stir in additional milk until desired consistency.
  9. Drizzle over cookies; sprinkle with toasted almonds.
