Walnut Brownies with Molasses Recipe

Ingredients

8×8 pan recipe

 

9×13 pan recipe

  • 1 C. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 3/4 C. cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 1 C. Grandma’s® Molasses
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 C. chocolate chips
  • 1 C. chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Spray an 8×8 pan (or 9×13 if using that recipe) with Baker’s Joy® No Stick Spray with Flour; set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, cocoa, sugar, molasses and eggs.
  4. Gently stir in the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
  5. Fold in the chips.
  6. Pour into the prepared pan and sprinkle walnuts on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  8. Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes before cutting.

Tips

Baking time for both an 8×8 and a 9×13 are the same. Always check with a toothpick.
