Smoked Bacon Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Davis® Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 C. Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 3/4 C. milk
  • 4 slices applewood-smoked bacon, cooked and crumbled

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 forks until mixture resembles coarse crumble. Add milk and bacon, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly (about 4 times). Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness, cut biscuits with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  4. Bake biscuits for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
