Cinnamon Toast Crunch™ Creamy Cinnamon Spread Chickpeas Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 – 15 oz. can chickpeas, drained but not rinsed – liquid reserved
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • ½ tsp. ground ginger
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • 4 tsp. Crisco® Pure Canola Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Cinnamon Toast Crunch™ Cinnamon Spread
  • 2 Tbsp. reserved chickpea liquid

Directions

  1. Line a medium baking sheet with parchment or waxed paper; set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cumin, ginger, garlic powder, salt, pepper and oil until well blended.
  3. Add chickpeas to the bowl and toss to coat.
  4. Heat a large skillet on med-high heat for 30 seconds.
  5. Add the chickpeas to the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Turn heat down to med-low and stir in Cinnamon Toast Crunch™ Cinnamon Spread and chickpea liquid.
  7. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  8. Remove from heat and pour onto prepared pan. Allow to cool
