Chocolate Orange Fondue Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/3 C. heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 tsps. grated orange peel
  • 3 Tbsp. Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp. orange extract

DIPPING ITEMS

  • Pound cake OR Angel food cake
  • Whole fresh strawberries
  • Kiwis
  • Pears
  • Bananas
  • Peeled orange segments

Directions

  1. BRING cream and grated orange peel to simmer in heavy medium saucepan. Reduce heat to low.
  2. ADD shortening, chocolate chips and 1 Tbsp. orange extract; whisk until mixture is smooth.
  3. REMOVE fondue from heat and blend in remaining 1 Tbsp. orange extract.
  4. TRANSFER to fondue pot. Place over candle or canned heat burner. Make sure heat is low.
  5. SERVE with cake pieces and fruit for dipping.
