Grandma’s Granola Recipe

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the oats, walnuts, pecans and pepitas; set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the vanilla and cinnamon until well blended.
  4. Then add the molasses, brown sugar, oil and salt and whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour the liquid mixture over the oat mixture.
  6. Stir well until all the oat mixture has been completely coated with the molasses mixture.
  7. Spread the granola out onto two large baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes then stir and bake an additional 30 minutes and stir again.
  9. Finish by baking for 15 minutes.
  10. When cool, pour into a bowl and stir in the dried cranberries.
  11. Store in an airtight container.

Tips

You can use a combination of your favorite nuts and/or seeds in place of the walnuts, pecans and pepitas – just keep the total amount to 2 cups.

You can swap out the cranberries for dried cherries or raisins, if desired.
