Ingredients

  • 1 C. Crisco® Butter Flavor Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 3/4 C. sugar
  • 3/4 C. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 C. creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Almond Extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 C. chopped peanuts
  • 2 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips (12 oz. pkg.)

Directions

  1. HEAT oven to 350ºF.
  2. BEAT shortening, sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, vanilla and almond extracts in mixing bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed until well blended. Add eggs. Beat until blended.
  3. COMBINE flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Add gradually to shortening mixture at low speed. Mix just until blended. Stir in peanuts and chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet.
  4. BAKE 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheets. Place on cooling racks to cool completely.
