Ingredients

Dough:

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Crisco® All-Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 C. + 3 Tbsp. whole milk
  • 1/2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
  • 2 C. all-purpose flour

Topping:

  • 2 Tbsp. Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening -melted
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh herbs, of your choice
  • Salt, to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a baking pan with shortening or line with a silicone baking mat
  2. Add all dough ingredients, except flour, into a large mixing bowl and whisk.
  3. Add in flour gradually and stir in until a dough forms. Be careful not to add all the flour at once because you may have a little leftover.
  4. Divide dough into 9 pieces and roll into balls. Place into baking pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown on top, rotating the pan halfway through.
  6. Remove and brush with melted shortening, fresh herbs & salt.
  7. Serve warm.
