Cinnamon Maple Pie-16

Ingredients

  • 1 single pie crust, spiced and par-baked
  • ¼ C. granulated sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 2 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tsp. Spice Islands® Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 C. Maple Grove Farms® Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1 C. heavy cream

Directions

  1. Prepare single pie crust recipe, adding 1 tsp. of cinnamon with the flour. Place dough in a 9” pie pan and crimp edges as desired. Par-bake and then set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F
  3. Whisk together the egg, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  4. Mix the maple syrup with the heavy cream in a heavy bottomed saucepan and heat, stirring frequently, over medium heat until it just comes to a simmer.
  5. Using the cream mixture, temper the egg mixture then pour into the pie crust.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the center is set. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack before chilling in the refrigerator.
  7. Top with whipped cream if desired.
