Butterscotch Nut Frosting Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 C. light brown sugar
  • ⅓ C. granulated sugar
  • ⅓ C. hot water
  • ⅛ tsp. Spice Islands® Cream of Tartar
  • 1 egg white
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • ½ C. chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Put sugar and water in saucepan over low heat and stir until sugar dissolved. Boil until syrup spins a thread (238˚ F). 
  2. Pour over egg white, beaten with cream of tartar, beating constantly until icing stands in peaks. 
  3. Add salt and vanilla, fold in chopped nuts.
