Ingredients

  • 1 C. Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 1 C. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsps. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 tsps. Spice Islands® Ground Saigon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. Spice Islands® Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 1 1/2 C. McCann’s® Quick Cooking Rolled Irish Oats
  • 3/4 C. chopped pecans
  • 3/4 C. golden raisins

Directions

  1. HEAT oven to 350°F. Spray baking sheets with no-stick cooking spray like Baker’s Joy®.
  2. COMBINE shortening, granulated sugar and brown sugar in large bowl; beat at medium speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. COMBINE flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda and salt in medium bowl. Add gradually to shortening mixture at low speed. Beat until well blended. Stir in chocolate chunks, oats, nuts and raisins with spoon. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls 3 inches apart onto prepared baking sheet.
  4. BAKE 15 to 18 minutes or until uniformly light brown. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheets; transfer to cooling racks to cool completely.
